Week 2 Televised NFL Preseason Games

After a disappointing 2007 NFL season, the Carolina Panthers look forward to getting their starting QB Jake Delhomme back in the huddle after elbow surgery. The arm will definitely be tested against Philadelphia with the newly acquired former Patriot CB Asante Samuel who brings with him 22 INT’s for a total of 313 yards in his 5 seasons with New England. The two teams will meet for week 2 of televised NFL preseason games on Thursday, Aug. 14 on FOX at 8 p.m. EST.

Two first-round QB’s meet for the first time in their careers during NFL preseason Week 2 action. JaMarcus Russell will get the start for the Raider nation when they travel to the Volunteer state to take on Vince Young and the Tennessee Titans for week 2 NFL preseason action Saturday, Aug. 16 on FOX at 8 p.m. EST.

In their first game since Super Bowl XLII, the New England Patriots try to regain what seemed to be perfection when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay has made many moves in the off-season to resign and acquire players like DE Kevin Carter, DB Eugene Wilson (Patriots), DE Marques Douglas (49ers), TE Ben Troupe (Titans) and WR Antonio Bryant (Cowboys). It will be interesting to see how Gruden pulls it all together Sunday, Aug. 1 on the NFL Network at 8 p.m. EST.

The New York Football Giants accomplished the improbable last year in Super Bowl XLII and will look to start the 2008 NFL preseason off of that success. Although Eli is the Golden Child, NY has signed QB David Carr to a one year deal… just in case. The Cleveland Browns will be looking to put aside the dismal (10-6-0) 2007 NFL season and get back on track against the reigning Super Bowl champions. Not only do they have the Giants to worry about but also staph infections.

The latest player to contract the infection is WR Joe Jurevivius. Jurevicious will be added to the list of Browns players who have contracted the infection over the past 4 years; C LeCharles Bentley, TE Kellen Winslow, WR Braylon Edwards, CB Brian Russell and LB Ben Taylor. The champions and the sickly go head to head in Week 2 of the NFL preseason Monday, Aug. 18 on ESPN at 8 p.m. EST.
